So for all the many people who follow this blog.... lol... I'm going to give you an update...
Well I can't really sum up a whole 2 years, but I'll put some key points.....
My dad turned 40!!! hahaha :)
I turned 16!!!!! I have officially been on 2 dates since then. And the first one doesn't even count cuz I asked him to go on a double date with me so Miranda could go with Adam for her birthday.... It was a fun experience. Oh btw, I went with Chris LaRachelle. So, I had to plan the whole thing, cuz it was my birthday present to Miranda kinda. Anyways, when Adam and Chris arrived at our house, we had a treasure hunt set up for them, with fun games along the way. The best one was where we wrote stories by each starting our own and then passing it to the next person to add a few more sentences to it. It was hilarious, we ended up with some crazy stories! Anyways, then we went to Dennys for lunch. Our waiter was funny, she just sat down at our table and made herself right at home. By the end of lunch, she had given all of us, or maybe it was just Adam, I can't remember, nicknames. After lunch, we went to Giant Eagle and split up with our dates and collected fifteen items each, we then switched carts and whatever group put everything in the cart back first, won. Chris and I won :) Then we went to dunkn' donuts and got hot chocolate and donuts. Overall it was a great day.
The second date I went on was with Jacob Cardon. It was the night of the etiquette dinner, about a week or two before modest prom, and a lot of the girls in the ward were getting nervous that none of the guys would ask anyone. Right before leaving the church to go get icecream with Adam and Jacob Cardon though, Jacob Crawford, comes up to our group and says, "Hey so make sure you're all at seminary tomorrow, cuz somethings gonna happen okay?" and we're all like, okayyy.... So then we get in the car to go to East Coast Custard for Icecream. Miranda, Danielle, and Adam are in his car, and Jacob and I are in my car with the three younger boys who are chatting away in the back seat. Well anyways, here's how the conversation went pretty much.
"So Cami.... when's modest prom?"
"In just over a week."
"Oh. Okay..."
Silence
Jacob - "Yeah, I still need a date."
"Oh."
"Hey, are you going with anyone?"
"No."
"Maybe you could go with me?"
Me looking over at him to see if he's just kidding...
"Okay, yeah, I'd like that!"
haha so kinda lame, but really funny at the same time cuz I could tell he was REALLLLLY nervous.
The next morning: we awoke to our mom trying to get us up cuz we were late to school, so that means we also missed seminary. Crap. Miranda and I were both excited to see what Jacob was going to do. We were almost positive that he was going to ask Cheyanne to Prom.
The next morning at seminary: We asked Jordan if anything unusual happened at seminary the day before. She wasn't there either though, so she didn't know. So we asked Alexis who said that Jacob hadn't done anything. So we're like, hmmm... maybe he was going to ask Jordan then but couldn't because she wasn't there! So all throughout seminary we waited to see if he did anything, but nothing happened, then, right after the closing prayer, Sis. Behlke was like, "Okay so Jacob Crawford wants to do something now not to embarrass anyone, it's just going to be fun." I turned to Miranda and was like, "He's soo going to ask Cheyanne now!" But when I turned back around to watch the whole thing, Jacob had already walked to my seat, knelt down, and pulled out a wooden box that said 'Will you?' on the lid. I was completely in shock! I just watched, as my heart fell off a cliff, and as Jacob asked, "Cami, will you go with me to prom?" and opened the box. Inside was a ringpop sitting on black fabric and the word, 'Prom?!" was written on the wood. I must've just looked at him for a minute, not wanting to say those awful words..."I Can't. I'm already going with someone..." No one had heard the news that I was already going with Jacob Cardon, except for Jordan and my family. So everyone was like, What?! Who? I told them Jacob Cardon had already asked me the night of the etiquette dinner. Jacob Cardon actually wasn't even at seminary that morning thank goodness, or else it would've been even worse and he would probably been given a hard time. So a few days later I found out that Jacob had asked me the night of the etiquette dinner cuz he heard that Jacob Crawford was planning on asking someone at seminary the next day and he didn't want me to be taken before he had a chance to ask. So yeah, there is my crazy, sad, modest prom story.
Rewind just a bit.
Miranda had wanted to go to prom with Adam for the past 3 years and realized that he wasn't going to ask her this year either. So she told me that she was going to ask him to go with her. First of all I told her that the girl should not ask the guy, and second of all, I kinda was hoping for a chance with him also. Actually no, I was really hoping for a chance. If Miranda asked him, he couldn't ask me, even though I knew he probably wouldn't. Oh well. So then like a week later, I walked into her room while she was on the phone talking to Adam, asking him to go with her to prom. It was not a good day for me to say the least.
However, Modest Prom was a blast! I loved every second of it:) And I got over my envy of the whole situation. We first went to the Wrights for dinner, and got lost along the way, then we got pictures taken at Modest Prom, and the whole dance was soo fun! Afterwards, we went out to Dennys and got onion rings and mozzerella sticks... I still don't why we did that... We arrived back home just after midnight I believe, after almost hitting a possum. It was a great night!

Reflections 2010
This year, my testimony has been greatly strengthened. But more specifically, my testimony of prayer has been strengthened. It actually began a year ago, but more so this summer. First was the sacred grove. It is one of the most peaceful places in the world. Sister Goshe told us that if we wanted, we could stop to pray, then catch up to them at the end of the trail, and right before, the missionaries had encouraged us to do so also. So I stopped and did so and just felt a confirmation that Joseph Smith really did see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ in the grove. Also, the last night of the Kirtland play, Pres. Haymond stood up and told us that Joseph Smith was grateful for what we were doing and that he knew us like His own Kirtland Saints and loved us. And I've always wanted to know Joseph Smith and meet him, so that just strengthened my testimony on him and on the restoration of this church. Second was trek and preparing for it. Our sewing machine isn't very strong so it got jammed all the time. I became so frustrated and said I wasn't going to finish making my dress. I left, then an hour later I saw Miranda working on her dress. I was shocked. I had tried unjamming that thing so many times without luck but Miranda got it. I asked her how and all she said was that I forgot to pray. I didn't think that He cared about a sewing machine but I now know that it doesn't matter how small it is, He just wants to help us no matter what it is. Throughout those next few weeks, I prayed over that machine many times and each time He helped. During Trek, I also say the power of the priesthood through prayer, and also how prayer gives us comfort as well. During the women's pull they said that they felt angels beside them helping them and it made me think of my patriarchal blessing I received in June, it said that angels will surround you and that your Heavenly Father and Savior will stand at your side at times to assist you. It has helped me through trials I have faced and pushed me through. The third and last is EFY. My counselor was amazing! She taught me so much that week! One thing she said was that we need to pray with a question in our hearts before we begin to read our scriptures. Then we need to show our gratitude to Him. I know that prayer is real and that God hears and answers each one because He loves us and wants to do all He can for us.

Did you know...
Adam is going to be 18 in less than a year! That is completely crazy!!! When we moved here he was in 8th grade! He's going to be leaving for college in two years and then, wait, that is if he goes on his mission after a semester of college! Aughh! I don't want people to grow up!!! Everyone changes. Including me. According to Miranda and others, I used to be fun. Whatever:)
So, I'm thinking that I just like Adam as a friend now. Just fyi.

Family Update
Last you heard, Todd died, Tiffany had cancer, Grandpa Robison was almost dead, and Aunt Janiel was not doing well at all. Well, Grandpa met Todd in heaven Septermber 19th, Sunday morning. We flew out on Friday the 24th for the viewing & the funeral. That night was very different than I would imagine. Grandpa was always big & jolly:) That is something I liked about Grandpa acted like Santa, big, happy and jolly! At the viewing though, he looked so pale and not jolly. He looked like a wax figure. The next morning was Grandpa's funeral. He was buried next to Todd and He now rests in peace. Before the burial, we heard from all of Grandpa's children & his remaining brothers and sister. We were able to hear many stories from Grandpa's life and memorable moments. I was priveledged along with Miranda to play Nearer my God to Thee, a piano (me) and flute (Miranda) duet. It was beautiful. At the bureal, soldiers buried Grandpa because he had served in war in his life. It was neat to hear the guns and watch afterwards as they folded the flag and gave it to Grandma. It was a great funeral. Before lowering the casket we got to put flowers on the top. It was a very special day.
